Rabat, Capital of the Kingdom of Morocco
Rabat, the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, is a city where millennia of history blend harmoniously with modernity. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2012 as "Rabat, Modern Capital and Historic City", it is renowned for its exceptional architectural heritage.
The city is home to iconic landmarks such as the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the Kasbah of the Udayas overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and the archaeological site of Chellah. Situated on the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the Bouregreg river, Rabat captivates visitors with its lush gardens, tree-lined boulevards, and its peaceful yet cosmopolitan atmosphere.
May 22 — International Day for Biological Diversity
The opening date of CIRIV'26 coincides with the International Day for Biological Diversity, celebrated every year on May 22 by the United Nations. A symbolic convergence that strengthens the congress's focus on the One Health approach and biodiversity conservation.
